Early spring means red tulips and blue and white hyacinth in this raised planter bed. Quickly this raised bed comes alive with color and texture. Even in winter this trellis work is a beautiful site. Snow stuck to the trellis adds interest even if only for a few days.
Spring Cherry blossoms are a breath of color brought to this landscape even as a spring snow starts. A picture shot at the same angle shows how diverse the landscaping can look from one season to another. Tulips and other bulbs come up first in the spring and give a colorful awakening to the landscape while most other plants are still dormant.
Lime green barberry, bright fuchsia dianthus, variegated iris, and aqua blue fescue grass take center stage in this landscape. Reds and purples prevail midsummer in this photo. Reds from the plum tree, and annuals. Purples from gay feather and other annuals. Sweet potato vine add a splash of green. These bulbs look great under the pathlight at night as well.
The two tone green varigation on this hosta is a beautiful sight in spring. This very same plant looks completely different in late fall. Lighting can aid efforts for year round color even if its snowing.
